My choc-berry gut healing smoothie not only tastes amazing but it has super gut healing powers. We know gut health is the foundation of all other health and wellbeing, but how do we ensure our gut is functioning optimally? We need to feed out gut the right pre and probiotics.
Pre-biotics. Cashew nuts, berries, cacao, flaxseeds, slippery elm are all pre-biotics. That means they contain the fibre that feeds the good gut bacteria in our gut. The good bacteria need these foods to thrive.
Pro-biotics: Kefir and yoghurt are excellent sources of the good bacteria that lives in our gut and helps keep our digestion system functioning optimally. It is important to replenish these good bacteria daily as they are diminished by sugar, environmental toxins, stress and processed foods.
